For everyone helping spread the word

Join the Choice Crew

There are three ways to get regional center services: traditional services, participant-directed services, and the Self-Determination Program (SDP). The Choice Crew is the people and organizations spreading the word, so every person and family knows all three before their next planning meeting.

So which one
did you pick?

The one that
fits my life.

Pick what fits. One person or a whole organization can join, at no cost.

Each area belongs to one of California's 21 regional centers. An area fills in as people there join the crew. Choose an area to see how many crew members are there and what its numbers are.

    The numbers

Awareness is the goal: people know all three ways before their next planning meeting. SDP enrollment is an outcome that is reported, not a target.

984DAN sessions from July 1 through October 3, 2026. DAN helps people get ready for a planning meeting, whichever of the three ways they use.
12,000+participants in the State Council on Developmental Disabilities' Self-Determination Program orientation, through November 2025
10,279people in the Self-Determination Program in June 2026, up 1,196 since February (Department of Developmental Services)

At today's pace, SDP doubles again in about three years. We believe awareness can make it two.

    By regional center

Each center is shown with its own count and its own change. The centers are different sizes, so this is not a ranking.
